What does God want from you more than anything else?
We don't have to guess because Jesus has already given us the answer. When someone asked Jesus what was the most important of all the things that God wants us to do, Jesus answered that, more than anything else, God wants us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:30).
Loving God with all your heart has to do with intimacy, and that closeness comes from spending time with God through a consistent quiet time.
Loving God with all your soul has to do with adoration, showing God your reverence, respect, and gratitude through sincere worship.
Loving God with all your mind has to do with knowledge, learning all you can about God by investing yourself in concentrated Bible study.
Loving God with all your strength has to do with service, making yourself available to carry out whatever tasks God calls you to through joyful Christian ministry.
So, loving the Lord your God is not just something you feel, but something you do, and it finds expression especially during your quiet time, your worship, your Bible study, and your Christian service.
